Arsenal’s players have arrived at London Colney for pre-season training, but the squad’s rebuilding process has yet to begin. Arsenal have already signed left-back Nuno Tavares from Benfica and midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht.
However, none of the 21-year-olds is likely to be a regular starter in Mikel Arteta’s starting lineup next season, as the manager and technical director are still on the search for a defender, midfielder, and a No 10 to complete their squad.
Matteo Guendouzi has already joined Marseille on loan with a purchase option, and more senior players such as Hector Bellerin and Granit Xhaka are poised to follow the young Frenchman out the exit door.
So, with the fate of several squad players in doubt and the Gunners looking for replacements in their effort to return to Europe next season, what could their starting XI look like?
