According to rumors, Manchester United is getting closer to signing Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane and expects to complete the deal by the beginning of August.
The Red Devils are preparing to make a formal approach to the LaLiga giants for their French centre-back, according to Sportsmail, after being persuaded that the player wants to transfer to Old Trafford.
Varane’s Real deal expires in less than a year, and the Spanish club risks losing the 28-year-old centre-back for free next summer if he is not re-signed this year.
Varane has spent a decade with Real, winning three LaLiga titles, four Champions League trophies, and four FIFA Club World Cups during his time with the Spanish giants. He has made 359 appearances for Real since his debut.
