Leyton Orient 1-1 Tottenham: Nuno Espirito Santo’s First Game Ends In Disappointment

Tottenham’s pre-season campaign began with a 0-0 draw against League Two Leyton Orient, with Dane Scarlett’s opening cancelled out by Ruel Sotiriou.

Joe Hart, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Eric Dier, Harry Winks, Dele Alli, Lucas Moura, and Steven Bergwijn were among the seven senior players in the visitors’ starting lineup.

Nile John, one of four adolescents selected by Nuno Espirito Santo for his debut game in charge, grabbed a pass over the top from Harry Winks and flicked the ball inside Orient left defender Connor Wood before firing straight at goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux on nine minutes.

Nuno’s men are next in action on July 21 and 28 at Colchester United and Milton Keynes Dons, respectively, before stepping up their preparations for away to Chelsea on August 4 and home to north London rivals Arsenal on August 8, both of which are part of The Mind Series to raise money for mental health causes.
