By bidding farewell to Chelsea on social media, Olivier Giroud set the stage for AC Milan to announce his move to the San Siro.
The World Cup-winning France striker teased the Milan move by saying he’d be starting a new journey with a joyful and glad heart.’
After joining Chelsea from Arsenal in 2018, the 34-year-old won the FA Cup, Europa League, and Champions League in three years.
‘A huge thank you for these special moments to all the Blues, to my team-mates, to all my coaches, to the entire club,’ Giroud wrote on Twitter. ‘I’m embarking on a new adventure with a light and joyful heart.’

The ever-reliable Giroud scored a goal in Chelsea’s 4-1 Europa League final victory over his previous side Arsenal in Baku.
