Lukas Nmecha, a striker for Manchester City, is set to join Bundesliga side Wolfsburg for £11 million. The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Anderlecht, where he scored 21 goals in 41 games, and the Belgians were eager to re-sign him.
‘Everyone here is a fan of him,’ Kompany warned, as his performances heightened competition for his signature. This season, we improved him, and he improved us. Manchester City isn’t going to give you anything. The members of the club are intelligent.’
Indeed, Red Bull Leipzig were the frontrunners for his signature, but Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg are now on the verge of agreeing to a £11.2 million price with City.
The Germany U21 international was born in Hamburg but has lived in Manchester since he was a child after impressing City scouts on a tournamant when he was a primary school student.
