Marcus Rashford’s penalty miss in the Euro 2020 final against Italy, according to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, will not deter him from playing for Manchester United in the future.
Just seconds before Gianluigi Donnarumma stopped Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka’s efforts to give the Azzurri the trophy at Wembley on Sunday night, the United No.10 hit the post.
Rashford’s disappointment is understandable, but Solskjaer feels the 23-year-old will ‘learn from it and absolutely come back better.’ Rashford, according to Solskjaer, will not ‘lie down’ and surrender. He is confident that the England international would ‘put his hand up’ and declare his desire to take penalties for Manchester United in the future.
‘You know the thing is, when you walk up to take a penalty, I think you’ve already won,’ Solskjaer stated to United’s media crew.
