Then, earlier this week, sources in Spain stated that Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are considering a sensational trade involving the 30-year-old and midfielder Saul Niguez.
However, according to MARCA, Atletico Madrid approached the Catalan club with a proposal comprising a direct swap between Griezmann and Joao Felix, who started just 14 of his 31 Spanish league matches in 2020-21.
Despite the fact that the Portugal international’s lack of regular starting XI places has apparently led to a turbulent relationship with manager Diego Simeone, the same site adds that Atletico are unwilling to let him go.
