Following England’s Euro 2020 final defeat by Italy, Prime Minister Theresa May and the Football Association condemned racist abuse directed against Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, and Bukayo Saka.

After the 3-2 shootout loss, all three players were criticized on social media for missing penalties.

The abuse is being investigated by the Metropolitan Police, who have stated that “it will not be condoned.”

The abuse was described as “appalling” by Prime Minister Boris Johnson. He stated, “This England team deserves to be praised as heroes, not racially attacked on social media.” “Those who perpetrated this heinous crime should be ashamed of themselves.”
