Petr Cech has revealed that when Chelsea considered a move for the goalkeeper, he was enormously impressed by the talent of Edouard Mendy.
After suffering much frustration in the goalkeeping department as Kepa Arrizabalaga often made errors, since making the move from Rennes in September, Mendy has been a considerably calmer presence between the sticks.
Cech, Chelsea’s technical advisor, joined the Rennes Blues himself in 2004 and confirmed that he played a role in Mendy ‘s signing.
