Danny Ings, a striker from Southampton and England, needs surgery and will be out for up to six weeks after his knee injury was worse than was first expected.
Saints manager Ralph Hasenhuttl announced on Wednesday that on Thursday, the 28-year-old is going to go under the knife.
During last weekend ‘s victory over Aston Villa, Ings sustained a knee injury. The initial scan findings were ‘favorable’ the club reported, but now Hasenhuttl has said that during training Ings’ knee flared up and he will miss the upcoming fixtures in England as well as the next chunk of Southampton’s busy winter schedule.
