West Ham Lose Striker Michail Antonio For Six Weeks With Hamstring Injury

As the number of Premier League players with soft tissue injuries exceeds 50 percent higher than at the same point last season, Michail Antonio faces six weeks out with a hamstring tear.

In a devastating blow to West Ham, striker Antonio was replaced with what scans have confirmed to be a Grade 2 hamstring tear in the 52nd minute of last Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Manchester City.

Hammers manager David Moyes had hoped that the injury was not too serious, but Antonio, who had scored three goals in six games, would miss Saturday’s trip to Anfield to face Liverpool, along with Fulham’s London derby.
