Mesut Ozil is persuaded that the commercial interests of Arsenal in China affected the decision of the club to omit him from its squads in the Premier League and Europa League.
On Wednesday, the former German midfielder launched a scathing assault on his bosses, accusing Arsenal of disloyalty, before pointing out that he will continue to use his global profile to tackle inhumanity.
It is understood that Ozil ‘s inflammatory comment was a reference to his notorious Instagram post last December in which he condemned the alleged mistreatment of Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang Province by China, which, despite being rapidly disowned by Arsenal, still had negative commercial implications for the club.
