Torres? Shevchenko? £71m Calamity Kepa Is Chelsea’s Biggest Flop, Says Sutton

Going by the consistent and recent show of shame from Keppa Arrizabalaga, former Blues striker, Chris Sutton, who admits that he falls into the same category at Stamford Bridge, sees the Spanish shot-stopper offering no value. The number one short stopper has become the biggest flop in Chelsea’s history, claims Sutton, with a man who once struggled to justify his own £10 million price tag placing a £71m goalkeeper above the likes of Fernando Torres and Andriy Shevchenko at the top of an unfortunate chart.

Chelsea made the Spain international Kepa the most expensive keeper in world football when they snapped him from Athletic Club about two years ago. Kepa has, however, struggled to justify the faith shown in him and is yet to offer any kind of return on Chelsea’s considerable outlay. With all these mistakes from him, one will not be surprise if he starts seeing the bench regularly as: “Chelsea is aren’t the type of club who say: ‘No problem – have another go next season!’ Lampard knows as well as anyone that silverware is a must.”
